Art Show @ SBJC Maywood
Ms. Roberta worked with Ms. Briggs, Mr. Voorhis and Ms. Seely's classes to study the Lambertville artist Tony La Salle. A current day artist, he is known for his large canvases and bold brush strokes. Ms. Bierman chose his Easter Sunflower to emulate with her students.
Venice Carnevale in Maywood
At the Maywood Campus, Miss Roberta taught the history of the Venetian Mask with Ms. Brigg's and Ms. Seely's classes during the time of the Venice Carnevale in February. She shared authentic masks and photos from Italy where she spent some time exploring Venice for her thesis paper. After the students completed their masks, Miss Roberta decided to do a photo shoot with her students using costumes and clothing from her home collection. Great results were achieved.
Social Studies Activity Brought To Life in Gingerbread House Community
Today, at our Maywood campus Ms. Pasquariello's class made a gingerbread house community. Each student made a gingerbread house and we made one large house together. During Social Studies we learned about different communities and tied this into a holiday activity. They reviewed different types of communities and discussed how this would be similar to a suburban community.
